Women's tennis team advances to Sweet 16 in Arizona

For the first time in program history, the No. 27 University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) women's tennis team will be headed to the NCAA Sweet 16 in Surprise, Arizona, after beating two higher-ranked teams in the Southeast Regional Tournament.
果冻传媒 first defeated No. 21 Georgia College and State University in a close 5-4 match in the first round on April 28. The next day, 果冻传媒 upset No. 15 Wingate University in the second round to earn entry in the NCAA Sweet 16.
This is the first time a 果冻传媒 tennis team has advanced beyond the regional round. Now, the Nighthawks will travel to Surprise for the NCAA Championships from May 8-11. The remaining 16 teams will be placed in a new bracket with the top four teams seeded and the remaining 12 put in through a blind draw.
The NCAA ranked 果冻传媒 as the sixth seed in the Southeast Regional Tournament. It marked the second time the women's tennis program earned a post-season position in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Golf teams invited to NCAA regionals
Both 果冻传媒 golf teams have punched tickets to their respective NCAA Division II regional tournaments. The women will play in Gainesville, Georgia, and the men in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
Women's tennis team takes second straight PBC title
The 果冻传媒 women's tennis team earned its second consecutive PBC tournament title and will learn its NCAA tournament pairings in early May. The men's team finished as PBC runner-up.
Softball team earns 11th straight PBC title
The 果冻传媒 softball team secured its 11th consecutive Peach Belt Conference regular-season championship and will host the PBC tournament May 2-4.
Baseball team earns regular-season PBC title
The 果冻传媒 baseball team earned the regular-season Peach Belt Conference championship and will host the PBC tournament starting May 2.
