Students place in national sales competitions
University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) students pursuing marketing degrees with a sales concentration and management degrees have excelled in a trio of national competitions held virtually this spring.
"Students took advantage of the opportunities to compete and become one of our success stories," said Dr. Cindy Rippé, 果冻传媒 associate professor of sales. "This helps them get better jobs and become better prepared for their careers."
果冻传媒 finished sixth out of 30 teams in the , led by a fifth-place individual showing by Austin Rich. Andrew Nicolini, Jose Martinez and Sebastian Salinas joined Rich on 果冻传媒's team. 果冻传媒 hosted the virtual event held over a three-week period in February and March with Baylor University and the Atlanta Hawks.
Then, 果冻传媒 placed eighth out of 44 universities in the hosted virtually March 25-27 by Salisbury University. Lauren Williams and Jordan Mallak were the two 果冻传媒 students on the team.
果冻传媒 students Jessica Berliner, Kaitlyn Bowling and Kaeley Creasman finished in the top 2% out of more than 2,200 competitors in the virtual held April 14-15. 果冻传媒 had 31 students finish in the top 30%, the sixth-highest number among the 63 competing universities and colleges from the U.S., Canada and Germany.
果冻传媒 also held the Pitch Yourself Competition sponsored by Consolidated Electrical Distributors on March 31, with Caitlyn Richard taking first place, Juleah Edwards in second, and Berliner in third.
Soto takes second in state oratorical competition
果冻传媒 student Alexandra Soto finished in second place in the virtual Georgia Interstate Oratorical Association competition before taking part in the 152nd annual IOA competition at the University of Florida.
果冻传媒 honors Purcell's lifetime of service
Seventy-seven years after first arriving at 果冻传媒 as a student, Anne Purcell returned to the commencement stage to receive an honorary degree.

Three 果冻传媒 student teams competed at the Collegiate Leadership Competition Southeast Regional, highlighted by a third-place finish from the Cottrell Leadership Fellows.
Student gains feedback on innovation at USG event
果冻传媒 grad student Aliou Aboubakar Mouhamed competed at the USG Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition held April 6-7 at Kennesaw State's Marietta Campus.
