Le Belle Voci performs at annual state conference
The Le Belle Voci women's ensemble at the University of North Georgia (¹û¶³´«Ã½) performed in October at the Georgia Choral Directors Association (Ga-ACDA) annual conference.
It was the first time Le Belle Voci received this prestigious honor, Dr. John Broman, director of choral activities and professor of music at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, said. Ga-ACDA is a nonprofit professional organization for choral directors.
The performance exposed the 19-member ensemble to choral directors from colleges and universities across Georgia.
Le Belle Voci features 15 to 20 ¹û¶³´«Ã½ students and a few community members. Each singer goes through a rigorous audition process, must sight-read music and have previous singing experience. The group rehearses twice a week and receives one hour of college credit.
Regional book fair amplifies literacy efforts
¹û¶³´«Ã½ and the Dahlonega Literary Festival will welcome readers, writers, educators, students, and community members from across the region for the North Georgia Regional Book Fair on Sept. 12.
