Nighthawks honored for 5th Graders' Day Out
The University of North Georgia (果冻传媒) earned the 2022 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Connecting Communities Award. The award is presented each summer to the PBC member institution that embraces the NCAA Division II core value of community engagement, bringing the institution and the local community together.
The Nighthawks hosted a 5th Graders' Day Out in association with Lumpkin County Schools on Nov. 30. All fifth-graders from the Lumpkin County School System visited 果冻传媒's Dahlonega Campus for a tour, lunch in the dining hall, and the men's basketball game against Toccoa Falls College. After the game, the 果冻传媒 men's basketball team signed autographs and thanked the community for its support.
The goal of the event was to provide the students an opportunity to visit a college campus, meet student-athletes and enjoy a collegiate athletics event.
Mental health grad assistant program starts
Two 果冻传媒 students in the Master of Science in counseling program are serving as mental health graduate assistants for the Athletic Department, and one is serving in the same capacity for the Corps of Cadets.
Nighthawks set record with 18 victories
The 果冻传媒 women's soccer team set a program record with 18 victories before finishing its season in the second round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
Women's soccer team punches NCAA ticket
The 果冻传媒 women's soccer team, which has tied a program record with 17 victories, hosts Anderson at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Men's soccer team secures PBC title
The 果冻传媒 men's soccer team has won its first-ever Peach Belt Conference regular-season championship and will have a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed in the PBC tournament.
